Black Swan's work with emerging artists has developed and evolved over the years into the current Resident Artists Program, a unique opportunity for outstanding West Australian emerging artists to connect with the State Theatre Company and enjoy a significant professional development experience. It is targeted at creatives in their first five years of professional practice – they can be directors, designers, writers, composers or actors - those identified as highly talented in their area of expertise. The Program provides access to training, mentoring and state of the art theatre practice in order to facilitate learning and performance.

Black Swan AIR Grant Program Kicks Off!

We announced late last year that, together with Yule Brook College in Maddington, we had been granted $30,000 from the AIR Grants Program. Yule Brook College approached Black Swan to request our involvement in a new project. The school does not currently run a drama program and students have been requesting one for many years. So together we applied for the funding, received it and started making plans for the project to start in May 2013. You can check out the first blog post for more information here.
