Providing meaningful engagement

Black Swan values the community in which we live and work, and continues to explore new ways to stay connected and engaged with the people who share this unique place and call it home. Here are some of the initiatives we are running currently.

Heart of the Art Club

Heart of the Art Club is like a book club, but for theatre lovers (only you don’t have to read the plays). These intimate social gatherings allow access to Black Swan artists to chat, inquire and gain insights ahead of the productions included in our 2021 season.

The word ‘curation' is derived from the Latin word meaning ‘one who takes care of souls’. Clare will share with you some of the great joys and challenges of the curatorial process at Black Swan. You’ll hear about the collaborative and iterative process of research and selection that aims to take care of our artists and audience. We’ll consider the role and responsibility of Black Swan as an active participant in the cultural conversation - locally, nationally and globally.
