We believe theatre can be a catalyst for change, reflection and conversation.
At Black Swan, we create beautifully crafted stories that are important to Western Australians. Stories that speak to who we are, and who we want to be.
We bring people together and foster connectedness. We inspire empathy and compassion, and encourage complex conversations, in the theatre and around the kitchen table. We tell stories that reflect, recognise and express our diverse Australian society, helping our audience see the world through the eyes of others. We fire the imagination and nurture new ways of thinking.
The work we do lies on a scale far bigger than just the stage. From our home in the State Theatre Centre in Northbridge, we reach far and wide. We take theatre to communities across WA, from regional cities to small towns and remote areas. Our Education Program engages high school students, enhances classroom learning and sparks conversation between teachers, students and parents. We develop local theatre artists, giving them opportunities to explore, experiment and shine under the spotlight.
All this is made possible by the generous support of our partners and donors.
