How our donors support Western Australian theatre artists
At Black Swan, we are committed to providing ongoing employment opportunities for Western Australian artists. Through our Artist Development Program, we develop the skills of local artists, foster artistic collaboration and tell new Western Australian stories.
WA artist Tyler Hill is an emerging set and costume designer who graduated from WAAPA in 2016. Tyler made his debut with Black Swan in our 2017 production Endgame, and in 2018 he joined us as a Resident Artist.
In 2018, Tyler worked as the set and costume designer for the very successful Black Swan, Perth Festival and DADAA collaboration; You Know We Belong Together (directed by Clare Watson), was engaged as the set designer on Hir (directed by Zoe Pepper) and also added his designer eye to theme the Summer of the Seventeenth Doll dinner party.
Donations to Black Swan enable us to develop and shine a spotlight on the next generation of Western Australian theatre artists, such as Tyler.
